Betatek Inc. was founded in August 1993. It is a wholly owned Canadian distributor of laboratory equipment, manufactured throughout the world.

Our core market consists of Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Companies operating in Canada and the testing they must perform to comply with the appropriate regulatory agencies. We enjoy market leadership in the areas of Dissolution and Stability and very strong positions regarding Tablet Hardness. Companies which produce tablets remain our largest customers and we are able to bring the latest technologies to our portfolio in this area.

These new products include the Distek Fibre Optic UV Dissolution System, and from Chata the Chem+Mix which facilitates the automation of solutions production used for HPLC Mobile Phase. From Smiths Detection we have introduced the Ionscan IMS Spectrometer used for cleaning validation analysis. All three of these new instruments offer huge savings in labour and time, and are welcome additions to our product lines. A niche area in which we offer great expertise is in the particle control and characterization field. These lines include Microtrac Particle Size Analysis, Flow Sciences Particle Containment, Climet Particle Counting, Smiths Detection Airborne Particle Identification and Quantification.

In the University Research Market the Powers Scientific Drosophila, Protein Crystallization, and Plant Growth Chambers have been very well received and Sonics who manufacturers Ultrasonic Processors is the world leader in this technology

Although our core market is the Pharmaceutical testing area, we do service all markets: Research, Government, University, Industry, and Hospital, if the need for our products has been established.

Betatek for the first time has established an in-house technical service department trained to provide technical support, instrumentation repairs, and coordinate and perform instrument validations. As well we are able to offer extended warranties, preventive maintenance programs, service contracts, and calibration services. This change has greatly reduced our response time in the case of an instrument break down

Our marketing program includes advertising, direct mail, trade shows, seminars, telemarketing, card decks and demonstrations. Our rapid growth is due to an uncompromising dedication to customer service, excellent products and a higher level of expertise and problem solving than our competition offer.

Our sales team of seven extends from the Maritime Provinces to British Columbia with sales representatives or agents providing our customers with solutions to their testing problems. In addition, we have four full-time colleagues in our Toronto office offering sales and marketing support and performing administrative functions.

Our vision is to become the leading supplier of testing equipment and related supplies to the Industrial Sector  in Canada.
