Pharmatron is a global leader in solid dosage form testing since 1972 and specializes in complete tablet hardness testing solutions. In addition to precision measuring of weight, thickness, width, diameter, and hardness (break force) of tablets, Pharmatron offers an advanced PAT system for automatic content uniformity testing with NIR for real-time release (RTR). The range of physical test equipment also includes disintegration testers, dissolution test equipment, friability testers, tap density testers and cap torque testing.

Tablet Hardness Tester

Pharmatron Tablet Hardness Testing

Tablet hardness - sometimes also referred to as tablet break force - measures the mechanical integrity of a tablet. Pharmatron hardness testers with precision measuring technology, EP & USP compliant design and Swiss quality components guarantee highest accuracy for test results you can rely on. Since 1972, measuring of weight, thickness, width, diameter and hardness of virtually all tablet shapes from round to oval, oblong and special shapes is our core competence.

Tablet Disintegration Tester

Pharmatron Tablet Disintegration Testing

Disintegration testing determines whether tablets or capsules disintegrate within a defined period of time when placed in a liquid medium. Pharmatron disintegration testers as required by current Pharmacopeia provide a reproducible and standardized method of ensuring that disintegration has taken place. In automatic tablet disintegration testing, the disintegration time including disintegration characteristics is recorded automatically.

Tablet Friability Tester

Pharmatron Tablet Friability Testing

Friability testing is an accepted standard throughout the pharmaceutical industry for determining the resistance of uncoated tablets to the abrasion and shock experienced in manufacturing, packaging and shipping operations. The models of the FR & FRV are simple to operate and fully comply with the specifications as laid down in EP, Chapter 2.9.7 and USP Chapter 1216.

Tapped Density Tester

Pharmatron Tapped Density Testing

The tapped density tester series JV have been designed to measure the tapped density of powders, granules and similar products in accordance with USP Chapter 616 Method 2 and European Pharmacopoeia Chapter 2.9.15. The JV is particularly useful in powder flowability studies and aslo in determining the amount of settlement during transit to optimize pack sizes. Tapped density is achieved by mechanically tapping a measuring cylinder (i.e. raising the cylinder and allowing it to drop a specified distance under its own weight) containing the sample under test.

Cap Torque Tester

Pharmatron Cap Torque Testing

The TM 200 is a torque-measuring device specially designed to work on bottle caps. The exact determination, especially of the opening torque, is a quality-defining factor. Use of the TM 200 provides reliable assurance and documentation that bottle caps have been closed with the appropriate amount of torque. Even child-resistant caps requiring downward force during the opening operation can be tested. The TM 200 is either operated manually or motorized with the optional MDU2 to ensure repeatable test conditions.
